As EHCC grows, I'm looking for compassionate people who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Companions are at the heart of what we do. Whether you're sharing a cup of coffee with an older adult, helping someone explore a new hobby, accompanying a child on an adventure, or simply being a consistent, caring presence, your time and relationship can have a lasting impact.

Type of Work

Companion/caregiver visits may include conversation, community outings, light household support, transportation, childcare, or helping people stay engaged in daily life.

Who I'm Looking For

The best companions are people who are:

Kind and compassionate
Patient and dependable
Curious and open-minded
Strong communicators
Respectful of people's different backgrounds, identities, and life experiences
Comfortable working independently while knowing support is always available

Experience in caregiving, recreation, education, social work, child and youth care, healthcare, or related fields is wonderful, but just as important is a genuine desire to connect with people.

Flexible Opportunities

EHCC operates throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Whether you're looking for a few hours each week or hope to build toward a fuller schedule over time, I'd love to hear from you. You'll have the opportunity to share your availability, preferred travel area, and the types of clients and activities you enjoy most.

This work is offered on an independent contractor basis.

Requirements

To help ensure the safety and well-being of the people we support, companions are expected to have:

A Vulnerable Sector Check
Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
Professional liability insurance (We're happy to provide information about affordable options)

Requirements must be fulfilled before beginning client work.

Some opportunities may have additional requirements depending on the individual being supported.

Compensation

Compensation typically ranges from $18–22 per hour, depending on the type of support provided and the responsibilities involved.
