Kidcare

Hi, my name is Eli!

You might see my face around here because I help run Extra Hands and I’m one of the caregivers too.

This page was made just for you.
It shows what spending time with me or one of our caregivers can be like.

This is my face

What is Kidcare?

Kidcare means providing a safe, caring place to be yourself.

Whether we’re at home, out in the community, or going on an adventure, we take things at a pace that feels right for you.

You don’t have to be any certain way.

You get to be you.

We help kids feel:

  • safe

  • comfortable

  • listened to

  • cared for

We pay attention to what you like, what helps you feel calm, and what your day usually looks like.

Food & Snacks

Good food that helps you grow

We help make meals and snacks using food your family provides.

That means we can:

  • follow allergies or food rules

  • make vegetarian or vegan food

  • choose foods that feel good for your body

We care about:

  • how food tastes

  • how it looks

  • how it feels to eat

And when we’re done, we always clean up the kitchen together or for you.

Things We Might Do Together

Fun, learning, rest, and choice

Kids are curious, creative, and full of ideas. We love that.

Some things we might do:

  • 📚 Read stories

  • 🎨 Draw, paint, or make crafts

  • 🧩 Play games or do puzzles

  • 🍪 Cook or bake together

  • 🌳 Go outside, walk, or explore nature

  • 🏛 Visit libraries, museums, or community spaces

  • 😴 Rest or relax when your body needs it

You don’t have to do everything.
You help choose what we do, and we always pay attention to how you’re feeling.

Daily Routines

How we do everyday things

Things like:

  • washing hands

  • brushing teeth

  • getting dressed

  • bath time

are done with patience and respect.

We explain things, go step by step, and never rush you.

If something feels tricky, we work through it together.

Homework & School Stuff

Help that makes sense for you

If you have homework or school things to work on, we can help.

That might look like:

  • sitting together to do homework

  • setting up a calm space to work

  • practicing skills in a way that feels easier

  • getting ready for a new school or a new routine

We believe learning looks different for everyone, and that’s wonderful.

Getting Around

Safe rides, clear plans

Sometimes we go places, like:

  • school

  • programs or activities

  • appointments

  • fun outings

Grown-ups always know where we’re going, and safety is always important.

Extra Support & Respite Care

Care that understands different needs

leaf face.jpg

Some kids and families use extra support programs, like respite care.
Our focus is always:

  • kindness

  • respect

  • building trust

  • taking time to get to know you

You deserve care that feels steady and safe.

Care That Fits You

Every kid is different (and that’s a good thing)

There’s no one “right” way to do kidcare.

If you:

  • have big feelings

  • need quiet time

  • love routines

  • like trying new things

  • need extra support

we’ll figure it out together with your grown-ups.

You can ask questions.

You can share what you need.

You get a say.
